I'm leaving for JFK soon from Philadelphia and it's confirmed that I won't have any contact for about 3 months, so don't worry! Training was OK and the people are honestly great and I can't wait to go! I miss you all already! Keep writing!

Haha, you're going to have quite the pileup of email in your inbox when you finally get to a computer. I've sort of been sending you stream of consciousness messages as if we were having a one sided IM conversation.

I sent two packages by first class mail, this evening. Post office predicts 5 to 10 business days for arrival. One is a padded envelope with the "shirt" book in it. The other is a box with the Rory Stewart book and the water bottle, filled with Bath and Body stuff.
I'm confused. You can't receive or read e-mail for 3 months. Can you read blog comments? Can you post blog comments? If you can read blog comments, then I'll just use the blog as if it were e-mail. Why not?
To other blog readers: track Therese's flight to Frankfurt and to Johannesburg on flight tracker.com. Info as follows: United Airlines 8842 leaves JFK at 9:25 p.m. 1/29/08. Lufthansa flight 572 leaves Frankfurt at 10:40 p.m. 1/30/08. This is a fun geography exercise, and so cool (to us old folks, anyway) to watch a plane cross the geography in real time. Ah, miracles, miracles.
