Hello fine friends, tonight is my last night in Cleveland, OH. Tomorrow I wake up and fly to Philadelphia where I will partake in a three day orientation. Next I'm off to Germany where I'll hang out for about 11 hours and then fly to Johannesburg where I'll go to an initial training of 9 days and then move into my host family's home for the training period of 3 months. I'm getting pretty nervous but am really excited to go. I guess my biggest fears aren't really that Africa-intensive. I'm more worried about leaving my friends and family for so long and losing touch...eek. This is definitely a huge undertaking. I just hope that I can keep in touch with all of you, either through email or messages on this blog (that is the ultimate goal of this blog I think).
The new title of the blog is "ThereseZA". My mom thought that I should mention that ZA stands for South Africa (those are the international initials)...soooo mystery solved.
Keep me posted on what you all are doing, I would love to hear from you and I will do likewise.

Good luck! Have fun with that awesome layover. I hope you got a chance to take that pillow with you, sounds like a lot of sleeping will be involved.
The background "sound is President Bush giving his last State of the Union speech, on T.V.
I'm trying to get used to this way of communicating with you, Therese.
In case you did not get my message left on the voice mail for room 702 of the Philly Holiday Inn, I called to tell you to try callingcards.com to shop for a calling card.
They have four to be used to call from South Africa to the USA.
Have a good sleep, tonight, and a good flight to Frankfurt, tomorrow night. Love, Mom
