I think that a little bragging is in order...in the last 2 weeks I have
1) helped organize and run a successful bike event in which we built and distributed 180 bikes
2) spent the money from the grant that I received (after writing that was for R35,00) for the supplies for the first couple of weeks of the youth program
3) GOT A GRANT FOR 50,000 RAND. This might not sound like a lot of money (about $6,000), but for programming it is a ton. So 2 months ago I sent out 60 letters to different foundations asking for money for our programming and one actually went through!! Isn't it amazing when things work out?
4) got the program running yesterday--the kids loved our first project (i will post photos soon) and are really excited to be part of it!
Wow, I LOVE IT when things actually start happening...!
