Hello from KwaZulu Natal

Hello Everyone!
I am writing to you from my permanent site visit in KZN. I am living in a rural village called Sweetwaters that is about 30-40 minutes from Pietermaritzburg. It is a really beautiful place. I am staying with a family of 13 on a 6 building compound. I'm working in Sweetwaters at the Siyaphambile Community Center which is an Orphans and Vulnerable Children Drop-In Center. I'm hoping to improve programming and do (hopefully) some fundraising and grant writing. We shall see. It does seem promising though. It is very similar to the place that I worked at when I studied abroad in Namibia in college.

My address has changed. I will post it once everything is finalized, which will be soon!

If you were going to send me packages any time please hold on to them. I want to make sure that I actually do get mail at this address before any thing expensive or super exciting gets lost.
Mail that has already been sent to the previous address (c/o Peace Corps PO Box 9536 Pretoria 001 SOUTH AFRICA) will still work, I just won't get the letters until I go to Pretoria, which only be every 3 months, because it is about 6 hours away.

I will be returning to Limpopo/my training site tomorrow, where I will say goodbye to my current host family, the Ngobenes, pack up my stuff, take my language test, and then be officially sworn in as a volunteer! I will be back--for good--in Sweetwaters! When I get my computer back I will then burn a disc of pictures to send back to the US to be put on the internet. Putting pictures online here is way too expensive and takes forever. So, then, you will all see the glory that is my Peace Corps experience. When I do get my computer back I will have internet access (through a cell phone) and will be able to answer emails and write in depth posts about what I'm doing here. I miss you all lots! Please, email me and tell me how you are and I will be able to check them ASAP! How exciting!

Love

My last post was perhaps premature.

Therese has asked me to inform everyone NOT to send anything to the address she just updated with.

She says it will be changing very soon. It sounds like if you send anything to that address she probably won't get it.

I'm not sure; don't kill the messenger.
