Rumours (minus Fleetwood Mac)

I have traveled back to Cleveland where I will now begin to wait out my departure. Fun fun. This has given me a little extra time to investigate the fabled "South Africa 2008-2010" PC Group. This is what I have uncovered:

The strange thing about this whole serving in the Peace Corps business is that it seems all very secretive...shhhh! heaven forbid she know where she might be living for the next two years! i don't get it. i mean, theoretically, I do get it, but I don't have to like it, so I won't, end of story. I digress...Anyways, it looks like that we will be training in or nearby the fine town of Mokopane in the Limpopo province. That would be here:

(See red dot nearby airport marker)

In relation to the rest of South Africa, the Limpopo province is here:(that would be a map of South Africa, fine readers)

It looks like a pretty sweet place. It borders Botswana and Zimbabwe and Mozambique, which is all pretty awesome. Some of you may not know, but I love Zimbabwe and am hoping that Limpopo shares some fine Zimbabwe-like qualities (minus the dictatorship, oppression, starvation, and human rights violations, of course). It is a dry foresty region, which is sweet because my previous travel in the desert in Namibia taught me that I really hate the desert. I wouldn't really advise desert travel to anyone. Take my word for it and skip it... Aaaaaanyways, Sepedi, Xitsonga and Tshsivenda are the predominant languages and the rumor is that each PCT (Peace Corps Trainee) we will be learning one of them (the group will be split up into different language categories, apparently). This is all making me very excited. I wish that I could take a 1.5 month long nap and wake up tomorrow and depart. But, alas, then I wouldn't have packed and that would make life a little too interesting... more to comeeee.
